Packout Interim
The "before" pictures. Before the neighbors left. Before we had all our good-byes. Before we got a little sick. Life was pretty good. We don't need "stuff" as helpful as it can be. But then the neighbors went on vacation, friends got back to finishing up school, we caught that little cold and we were kind of grounded for a week sans. . .kind of everything. Even my sourdough starter got dehydrated! Not that have any real baking supplies. Things felt pretty tragic. Sourdough starter curling up.
We always manage though. We pulled out the slip and slide that's not going to Oman.
Our raspberries are growing full-force and we are also eating out fill of Jersey blueberries and strawberries since that's going to be much to expensive to eat in Oman when we can even get them.
We found out our Museum tickets were for July and tried out Lincoln's cottage-HUGELY underwhelming. You can take a self-guided tour(no signs or recordings)of an empty house that Lincoln lived in for several years for $40. I recommend at least waiting until they offer guided tours. I should've done my homework on that one.
The free visitors center has a room dedicated to children who have died where you can make a leaf for special angels in your life. This was very sweet and we left a few angel names.
I'm going to have to get some pictures or figure out how to shorten my video so I can upload it but by far, my favorite part of this week has been teaching Elise how to ride a bike. Our dear neighbors kindly left a couple of bikes for us to use and I decided it was time for me to just take the reins on this project and get her riding. It proved to be very simple and she's enjoying riding bikes with Sennia every day.
