Party on the Dhow

We PLANNED for a thrilling climbing adventure on our "Golden Holiday" as the Bosse man coined the embassy holidays that don't match up with a TAISM holiday. The Cyclone compromised the holds on the wadi wall so we had to put that off. Jill and I decided we needed another adventure and Jill is a genius for adventure. Overnight we got 26 people signed up and rented a Dhow. A Dhow is the traditional Omani boat. I was a little disappointed that this one wasn't "sewn" together in the traditional way but it looked and felt traditional. I didn't quite envision Nephi tied to the mast in the storm but it still felt very exciting.
So glad Sam and Elijah could come. Samuel is working on his computer day in and day out on school and school applications and of course insects. He needs more adventures in his life so I'm SOOO grateful for Elijah.

Since this is our firsts post I really can't compare, but I get the feeling that this is and especially adventurous and fun embassy group. They were all so delightful gathering last minute, willing and ready to jump off the top of the boat, snorkel around, be in the heat, not get the refreshments they were promised, chat with anyone, see dophins or turtles or just sit at chat.
