Dubai World Expo 2020(2021)
We all are still a little wowed that we got to go to see the World Expo in Dubai. Everyone had Meet Me in St. Louis flashbacks in their head.
We left right after school got out and drive to the UAE boarder and into Dubai and to our hotel. Hotel breakfasts in the middle East are so much yummier, except kids still prefer the good ol' American SAD fair. Actually, I'd say Brigham ate both. Sam ate Middle Eastern.
We're not in Oman anymore that's for sure. The architecture is fascinating so we almost didn't mind the times we got in awful traffic. Almost. Matt was a champ trying to get through all that traffic and figure out what google wanted him to do but I was not feeling like cheering with that kind of crazy driving.
Parking wasn't too bad, the bus and parking system were actually super easy to navigate. They have QR codes everywhere to tell you what to do.
Every country has a Pavilion. The architecture is often really innovative. They kids wanted to go inside every single one but you couldn't do that in a month probably. We had a day and some recommendations so we went with that.
Austria didn't turn out to be very interesting. I didn't actually get to see it. I went to buy the kids their passports to get stamped in every country. They had snow globes in the line queue though.
This is our reflection in the Saudi Arabia Pavilion going in. We loved this exhibition.
VIP tour going in with the changing scenic video behind them.
My VIP's in front of the same.
This is the entrance, as you go up a giant escalator there are recreations of some of the historic buildings in Saudi with projections of people living in it. I think especially after living in Oman for this short time, you really get a feel for what Saudi cities could look like and their beautiful historic buildings.
One of the goals of the Expo is to make as much of it interactive as possible. For this reason, photos just don't communicate the feel you get from being there. Sadly, Blogger won't upload my longer videos and I didn't take many good short videos so you'll have to use your imagination.
