No longer 6, never again.

Oh, I don't know if there could be too many pictures of that smile. All happy 6yr olds are excited for their birthdays but it sure seems like this one was the most excited 6 yr old in the history of 6 yr olds. What she REALLy wanted was to have a party with ALL her classmates. She agreed to settle for a day at Atlantis, the largest waterpark in the world. Maybe the most expensive waterpark in the world as well, I don't know. I do know that as Miss Virginia says "You may smile but your pocketbook will cry." That ice cream cone was $12, it's the only thing they ate and they were having enough fun to not even complain.
She loved every single ride, every single play area. There were a few times Matt and I thought, "Oh we've blown it. She must've hated that!" but she traded the terror in her eyes for a great big smile and was ready to go again. It was, believe it or not, a little cold. They do a lovely job of shading everything but there was a breeze off the ocean and we were getting chilly standing on those tall towers waiting in line for almost every single ride in the park by that evening.

Turkish Ice Cream. If you know you know. Ice cream and a show.
This is the big Shark Aquarium where a few of the rides go into. Elise loved watching the rays and sharks.
It turned out to be the perfect day at the park. Alena stayed back at the hotel gladly-water rides really aren't her thing. We had a great number and Sennia turned out to be a rock star. She doesn't love rides like the rest of us but she didn't cry or refuse to ride anything we asked her to. She was glad Alena hadn't come in the end because she had a lot of fun and it gave her the courage to ride things she wouldn't have if she'd been able to get out of it.

Alena decorated the hotel room while we were gone as a surprise for Elise. She was beyond excited for everything.
