Pet Sitting

Samuel was hired to pet/house sit for some friends for a month. He slept there and kept the dogs and cat company for the last month. That meant early mornings and walking back and forth sometimes at 11pm if he wanted to stay up and watch a movie with siblings. He was soooo excited to sleep in today for the first time and also sad that he wasn't going to see the animals every day.
We also got to help a little bit when Samuel couldn't make it or just when the girls wanted to interact with the animals. Elise started out extremely scared because the dogs are adorably excited and don't listen at all. They want to love you up in the very messy dog way. We took them for a couple of walks and brought them over to our yard to play for a little while one day. Elise got over the nervousness and didn't even shy away from the ridiculously slobbery tennis ball she loved throwing for them. 



Her favorite was Sophie the cat. Elise wants a cat so badly. She does remind me so much of Eli who also REALLY wanted a cat at her age. That ended badly unfortunately.  Sennia didn't get photographed with the dogs but she also really loved them. We're going to need to make some visits.

My kids and I have made the best friends while we were here in NoVa. It's been a little heart wrenching to say good-bye. Thankfully it was packed full of friend time so that the girls hardly even had time to notice that we were saying good-bye. I will forever be thankful for the women and men who made all this possible. You will each be missed and I can only anticipate when next our paths cross.

Meet the Poulsons

We've had several new families move in, both to the Embassy and church! The Poulsons are an instant fit. They have a missionary, a BYU Freshman, and kids Brigham's age. They also love to adventure and are a lot of fun! We did some snorkeling, some paddle boarding, beach combing and tried to rescue a dead turtle that looked like it had recently died in a fishing net. We took them to Bimah Sinkhole and White Sands Beach. She wanted to jump but yet, she didn't. It's always a guessing game for her courage.

A Red Carpet Moment

The opening of the musical season at the Opera House made my heart beat fast. I wanted to have something formal to wear if I ever needed it so I had a dress made. I was incredibly nervous about the whole procedure but also pleased with the results. Matt bought me tickets to see Rigoletto.  As excited as I was, the production was incredible! I'm still dreaming about it and even Matt loved it-he doesn't like opera. After getting a beautiful dress i was super nervous about how to get me up to par. The toll my hair loss had taken is really tragic for me. It was doing better until the most recent episode Elise shared with me after catching it in Egypt. While it wasn't perfect, It was better than I'd thought.  It didn't really turn out like I thought but it worked. While the dress is beautiful, it doesn't really flatter my figure.
