Just a few home notes

Elise had to stay home from school because she had a cough. She slept in one day as she was starting to feel better and she thought she would be able to go to school. She was pretty much devastated when she woke up and she had missed it. She begged to send emojis to Mr. Mo.
She also picked flowers for Alena's ceramic vase. She's been going to the art room after school with her friends and making pots and things.
She also created this lovely watercolor card for me for an almost forgotten Mother's Day. Matt forgot. Everyone forgot. Except Alena.
I had to do a little experiment. Are American marshmallows superior to the best marshmallows in the Middle East. Yes. The answer is yes although they do melt, get brown and would work in a pinch.
Luke has had some good things going on.

My kids and I have made the best friends while we were here in NoVa. It's been a little heart wrenching to say good-bye. Thankfully it was packed full of friend time so that the girls hardly even had time to notice that we were saying good-bye. I will forever be thankful for the women and men who made all this possible. You will each be missed and I can only anticipate when next our paths cross.

Meet the Poulsons

We've had several new families move in, both to the Embassy and church! The Poulsons are an instant fit. They have a missionary, a BYU Freshman, and kids Brigham's age. They also love to adventure and are a lot of fun! We did some snorkeling, some paddle boarding, beach combing and tried to rescue a dead turtle that looked like it had recently died in a fishing net. We took them to Bimah Sinkhole and White Sands Beach. She wanted to jump but yet, she didn't. It's always a guessing game for her courage.

A Red Carpet Moment

The opening of the musical season at the Opera House made my heart beat fast. I wanted to have something formal to wear if I ever needed it so I had a dress made. I was incredibly nervous about the whole procedure but also pleased with the results. Matt bought me tickets to see Rigoletto.  As excited as I was, the production was incredible! I'm still dreaming about it and even Matt loved it-he doesn't like opera. After getting a beautiful dress i was super nervous about how to get me up to par. The toll my hair loss had taken is really tragic for me. It was doing better until the most recent episode Elise shared with me after catching it in Egypt. While it wasn't perfect, It was better than I'd thought.  It didn't really turn out like I thought but it worked. While the dress is beautiful, it doesn't really flatter my figure.
