Epic Last Day of School
Kid requested that I pick them up on the last day of school. No problem. Except I almost didn't make it because I got lost in the Mall of Oman. PANIC ATTACK. Thankfully Michelle had my back and told me not to worry because she was there and it would be ok. I picked up the KK girls and we met Bosse Posse at Hagen Das for some really yummy ice cream.
Alena-thrilled, Brigham-boardering on depressed, Sennia indifferent but claims excitement, Elise-bummed but hopeful.
There was quite a bit going on this day. It was a lot of emotional roller coaster honestly. I took the kids to the Oasis Club to swim and help celebrate Mark Bosse's birthday. Matt was at home making his food for the diet he started. Sam came for Tacos but then went home, Alena was home packing and I meant to go with her and pack but then, Elise and Brigham wanted to be at the club and Sennia was at a birthday party.
Elise was TIIIIIRed. She was also super into Karaoke. She battled with her friend Kaleb during Karaoke to sing into the microphone.
So many feelings wrapped up in this photo. I love this kid and his love for his friends. I hope he has a great year this Fall and finds some friends who appreciate him. These are nice boys. Middle School is tough tamales.
Sennia and Savannah had a great day at Ariana's birthday party.
I got stuck at the Oasis Club while Matt went to pick the girls up from the party and couldn't manage to get away for 45 minutes. Meanwhile Alena's last minutes in Oman were ticking away. I got home and Matt and I rushed around getting her ready and left for the airport. She was nervous and sooo excited. I was sad and happy for her. I knew it was going to be a long night waiting to be sure she got on her plane. It was supposed to be a very busy time at the airport but it really didn't seem like it. We love the Oman airport so much. Never has an airport had such a feeling of calm.
As I watched her disappear into the crowd of passengers going through security and Omani man approached me and said "Your heart is breaking. I saw from way back there. She will be alright. God will save her." I lost it at that point but how I wanted to wrinkle that man's dish dasha. What a sweet angel. She was just fine as it turned out.
Elise is getting some moves!
