Plitvicka Jezera Nation Park
Again, my ignorance about knowing what I was getting into on this particular day haha. Matt showed the kids a picture of this National Park and OF COURSE they wanted to go. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. What I didn't realize is that it was a LONG way out of our way and we had to drive 2 or 3 more hours to Zagreb to see it. Oh well. It was a lovely memory with more incredible waterfalls than I've ever seen combined. All the waterfalls.
Most of the stone and mountains in Croatia are limestone and we speculate(because we can't ever seem to get enough information here) that that is why the color of this water is so green-blue incredible.
So much moss, so many plants, so MUCH GREEN! with waterfalls shooting out everywhere.
The collecting laws in Croatia are stricter than Samuel would like. This would've been collecting haven if he didn't have rules looming over his head.
I sure love this little flower girl.
i discovered some very plumb looking fruit and of course as soon as I mentioned it to Matt he was head in the trees munching tiny wild plumbs. I don't know how legal that was but . . .
We finally got into Zagreb around 7pm I think. I admit to being giddy to being at the Sheraton there. Plush bedding, showers that have all the things, no low ceilings or quirky floors or broken anything. We've enjoyed all of our accommodations but all of that make a good night of sleep and a free breakfast buffet indulgent.
Starving Matt wanted to run out for dinner but I was tickled again that 4 out of 5 children wanted to relax at the hotel and have us bring food back. Sometimes I just need a little break. The hotel also upgraded us to 2-1bedroom suits. So the boys have a suit and we have a suit. With 2 different rooms with shutting door and 4 total bathrooms and . . .can you tell I'm craving some privacy!
Eli and I walked to the happening end of town to scope out restaurants while Matt took the kids food back to them. We ended up at a Sri Lanken place that took FOREVER!!!! We got this homemade ginger beer which was pretty good. Nothing we got was wonderful but it was good. Sadly we didn't get the kids to bed until after 11pm. It stays light here until 9:30pm or so and I think that's throwing everyone off their game.
