Ramping up to the End of the Year
For a Young Women's Activity, the girls did some writing. Sis. Woodford made these amazing write-ups and posters of the authors. While Alena would've chosen a different picture, I really loved this one.
This was the Embassy summer kick-off party. They had some games and acknowledged the kids who were there. This was quite a first year of school for my kids. I feel like I'm still reeling from it all. Next year will hopefully feel more normal.
These mornings are incredibly hazey, humid and hot. Even at 5am it's 90+ degrees and AT LEAST 67% humidity. I wish I could capture the mystical quality of the sunrise around this mosque as I drove to pick-up Lauren for our morning run.
The embassy has also has a lot of activities. This was an art project. Not sure if I can claim there was a lot of creativity going on but it was entertaining at least. Maybe someday I'll finish my painting. I want to.
We had many music concerts. This particular day was a doozy for me. I volunteered to collaborate with the other 1st grade parents and put together an end of the year gift. There were a few challenges but I finally got everything together in time to deliver it that morning. It made me late. Then i forgot my badge, then I couldn't find anyone to sit with. Then I had to leave late because Luke called. My dear friend Saeida always has my back though. I'm thankful for her and her family.
Because I didn't have a good seat I didn't really get any good photos of Elise. I do have some videos but I cant seem to load them here. Sweet girl.
