School's Out, Now What? Father's Day!
This is the face of a very happy man. Matt's been on a diet for the past couple of weeks. He has been incredibly careful. Father's Day Sunday isn't a Sabbath in Oman so we spent the day paddling with the kids-sadly I can't post the video-and that night he and I went out to dinner at . . . A STEAK HOUSE. I don't typically do steak houses but Matt's body does really well with beef and it's a really big treat. I was a bit of a bad influence though since I was STARVING. I ordered the best truffle fries ever. The salad I ate was a dream. Then-dessert. Yep. I was in the mood and it sounded good and boy did it live up to my expectations and beyond. Honeycomb-nut brittle-LOADS OF IT, with ice cream nested in a chocolate cup and drizzled with honey caramel. We will dream of this for days to come.
The embassy planned some events together after school got out. We loved rekindling our ice skating skills, especially with friends.
Samuel's days at home are numbered. I'm quite sure I will not get this view much longer. His belongings are getting packed up and shipped to Utah.
We took a maiden trip to the brand new Ikea. I promised the girls shelves. It was worth it all just for Brigham to be able to build them with his sisters. They're all such little mechanical-minded souls and they love to solve puzzles like Ikea furniture.
