Villa in Bidiyah

We decided to spend the Eid holiday hiking Wadi Howar and Wadi Bani Khalid. They're 3 hrs away so Matt found this lovely villa to stay in. There was a big of mix up with the the check-in but all in all it was a really fun place in the middle of the sand dunes.

We had a great hike on Saturday but the girls and I opted to hang at the Villa Sunday while the boys hiked Bani Khalid on their own. 


Hot enough to cook S'mores on the deck.

A Polish Anniversary pt1

These caricatures from the safety video of Fly Dubai cracked me up. Best safety video ever.  I think it was the beginning of the year searching up Andrea Bocelli concerts that I discovered a concert on our 25th anniversary. Poland was a new country so it didn't take a lot of convincing for Matt to take me. I did NOT realize it would mean missing the first day of school but thanks to Eli's generous presence at home we left them all in good hands. My Mom sent me such a thoughtful package and included an autobiography of Andrea Bocelli that she was reading that I didn't realize existed. I'd fallen in love with his voice and now I was able to learn more about his life and his thoughts.  Welcome to the Warsaw Airport Marriott. Let the ASA's begin!

Elise was SOOOOO nervous about doing soccer. She had lots of preconceived notions about it. I got some intel and found out many of her friends would be there! The other helpful piece of information was that there were no teams as of yet. She would just be playing soccer games and doing soccer drills to learn about soccer. She was much more confident knowing those things. Turns out she loved it. She is looking forward to it. All is well. Sennia is SUPER excited to be able to rehearse in person! She's the Mom in her Musical and she's been suffering through online rehearsals for 4 weeks so being back together with everyone has been amazing, even when they spend the entire rehearsal on scenes she's not in like they did a couple of times. These photos from this blogpost are all snipped out of the school newsletter so they're low resolution but still nice to have on record. She's the one on the far right in all of these pictures.

Meet the Poulsons

We've had several new families move in, both to the Embassy and church! The Poulsons are an instant fit. They have a missionary, a BYU Freshman, and kids Brigham's age. They also love to adventure and are a lot of fun! We did some snorkeling, some paddle boarding, beach combing and tried to rescue a dead turtle that looked like it had recently died in a fishing net. We took them to Bimah Sinkhole and White Sands Beach. She wanted to jump but yet, she didn't. It's always a guessing game for her courage.
